r <br />MEETING. JUNE 10. 1924. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held <br />in the Selectmen's Room, Town halls Lexington, on Tuesday. <br />June 10, 1924, at 8 P. M. The following members of the Board <br />were present; namely, Messrs. Burnham. nutchineon, Custance and <br />Miles were present. The `Town clerk was also present. . <br />Hearing was declared open upon application of William G. <br />Murphy of 25 Mass. "venue, for permission to maintain a public <br />garage at Bow Street, Lexington. <br />No persons appeared to object and it was therefore <br />voted to grant the permit. <br />Another hearing was held on the petition of Warren S. <br />Griswold for approval of lay out of Section 4. <br />The petitioner and abutting reeidente were again present. <br />The Board decided to consult the Town counsel on the <br />matter before approving any plane. <br />The Town Treasurer was authorized to borrow $50,000 in <br />anticipation of revenue. <br />The petition of the Edison Electric Ill. Co. for one <br />pole -'on Waltham Street, the third south of forest Street, was <br />granted. This is an attachment order to attach to pole of the <br />N. E. T & T. Co. <br />In regard to the -extra police protection requested by <br />residents, the Board decided to insert an article in the Warrant <br />asking for an additional appropriation for the Police Department <br />of $2000 for this purpose. <br />The Board voted to appoint Henry Harvey of Muzzey St. <br />Lexington as a regular police officer of the town. <br />The Board received a petition from the residents of <br />Grove Street for electric lights on said street. <br />The Board authorized the Supt. of Public 6orks to order <br />lights on this street. <br />Permission war grahted to Howard M. Munroe of Lowell <br />Street to drive his cows to pasture along the highway, in accordance <br />with the By -Laws, <br />1 <br />1 <br />Mr. Fred B: Bartlett, owner of the bowling alleys, wap <br />granted permission to put in a pool table in the bowling alleys <br />during the warn weather when the bowling alleys season is dull.
