1 <br />s <br />MEETING, NNE 3, 1924. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen wes held in the Select- <br />men's Room, Town Hall, Lexington, on Tuesday, June 3, 19240 at 8 P. M. <br />The following members of the Board were present; namely idesers. <br />Burnham, Moulton, eustance, Hutchinson and Miles. The Xssit Town Clerk <br />was also present, <br />Board of Survey hearing was declared open for the second time upon <br />the Griswold lay out at Park Heights, North Lexington. <br />Mr. Griswold, his engineer and attorney were present. <br />Several of the residents in the vicinity were also present. <br />Mr. Brown and Mr. Duffy of the Planting Board were present. All <br />parties present argued for their rights in the matter but nothing <br />definite was done except to refer the matter to the Engineers to see <br />if they could draw plana satisfactory to all. <br />Milk Inspector, Russell I. Prentiss, placed before the Board his <br />report of inspection of milk, and requested that it be printed: in the <br />local paper. <br />Before having the same printed it was decided to have it submit- <br />ted to Town Gounsel. <br />Letter was received from William H. Ballard in regard to having <br />the property next to the High School cleared off as soon as possible <br />so that measurements could be taken for the High School building, <br />' which is soon to be erected. <br />The Board replied to Mr. Ballard that one of the houses is now <br />being -.torn down and the other one is to be moved as soon as possible. <br />Peddler's License for Howard F. McMahon of 12 Edmund Road, <br />Arlington was approved by the Board. <br />The Su t. of Public Forks reported that two street lights were <br />needed on Vine Brook Road and one on Upland Road opposite Number 4. <br />The Lexington Gee Company was granted permission to lay a 4" <br />as main on Clarke Street and to make service. connection a.t <br />20 Clarke Street, <br />Mr. Hutchinson reported that some of the residents of Bloomfield <br />Street believe that at least one of the Police Officers should be <br />taken off the night force and placed on duty at the Munroe School. <br />The accident recently occuring to Mrs. Harold Hall's boy caused <br />' unrest to the Bothers of children in the neighborhood and they felt <br />that something should be done for sufficient protection. It was <br />stated by the School Committee that the janitors could not have time <br />to leave their duties for one hour and look after the children. <br />The Supt. of Public Forks stated that he did not believe the <br />force large enough at the present time to do anything, but if suf- <br />ficient amount is appropriated next year they might have the police <br />protection. <br />The matter was left with the Supt, of Public Works to work out with <br />the Chief of Police some way to give the protection needed for the <br />rest of the school term, <br />Meeting adjourned at 11:30 P.
