MEETING, MAY 13, 1924. <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in the <br />Selectmen's Room, Town Hall, Lexington, on Tuesday, May 13, 1924, at <br />8 P. M, The following members of the Board were present; namely, <br />Messrs. Burnham, Moulton, Custance, Hutchinson and Miles, The Asa't <br />Town Clerk end. Town Counsel were also present. <br />William G. Murphy of 25 Maas. Ave. came before the Board relative <br />to making over his garage into a public garage. He was informed that <br />he would have to make application for same and that a hearing would <br />have to be held on same, <br />Mrs. Trani of Reed St. Arlington Heights, came before the Board <br />in regard to the barn at Crescent Hill Avenue which was complained of, <br />as a fire trap. Mrs. Trani stated that she expected to have the barn <br />fixed as soon as possible. The Board referred the matter to the Build- <br />ing Inspector. <br />Frederick Lundergan of 9 Sylvia St. came again before the Board in <br />regard to securing a permit to build a two flet house at 15 �jlvia <br />Street. <br />Frederick L. Emery, Chairman of the Planning Board, came before <br />the Board and stated that hearings were held and no one in the section <br />of Sylvia Street appeared to voice any objections to the Committee on <br />Zoning and as long as the law was made accordingly there could be no <br />' change made unless it be made by vote of the town .meeting. <br />Mr. Lundergan was informed that nothing could be done unless the <br />matter was brought up in town meeting for changing the by-law. <br />Mr. Emery brought the natter of bringing Forest Street Extension <br />before the voters again so that steps could be made toward. laying out <br />the street. <br />He left prints of the cost of work along the road and urged that <br />the Board make an effort to bring the matter to a head. <br />James A. Guthrie, C. J. Hendrick and Edgar W. Harrod, represent- <br />ing a group of citizens in the East Village came before the Board <br />relative to the status of the jitneys. <br />Mr. Drew, President of the Middlesex & Boston St. Railway Co., <br />happened to be present and gave the gentlemen the information they <br />desired. They remained before the Board for some time entering into <br />a discussion with the railroad officials. <br />They were informed by the Board that the regulations could be <br />seen by any of them st any time and that the Middlesex & Boston <br />Would be required to do certain work before a license would be <br />guaranteed to them. <br />Permission was granted to the British jiaval & Military Veterans <br />AssociAtion of Maas. to parade in Lexington on Sunday, May 25th, and <br />to hold memorial services on the Lexington Green and decorate the <br />monument, <br />The local military organizations were notified that they would be <br />expected to meet this organization. <br />
