66 <br />'C <br />'z7 <br />UEETING, JULY 109 1923. ' <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen and Public <br />5uorks was held in the Selectmen's boom. Town Hall,Lexington, <br />on Tuesday, July 109 1923 at 8 P.L. The following members of <br />the Board were present, namely besere. Scamman, flake, Burnham <br />and Hutchinson; the Town Clerk and the Town Counsel, and Ase't <br />Town Clerk were also present. <br />A Warrant to Jamev lrwin, Log Officer, was signed so that <br />he could collect all dog licences that were not paid. <br />In place of Grace U. lerriam, George'�v. Taylor and Frank D. <br />Peirce, resigned. Edward P. s erriam. Edward ';i . a,"V or and <br />yri'liam F. Young were appointed to nerve on the 150th tinnivernary <br />Committee. <br />Upon recommendation of the Uhief of Police. Edgard Leavitt, <br />William C. O'Leary, 'Tho is now a Reserve Officer of the Police <br />Department, was appointed a aegular Police Officer. <br />Common Victualler's Licenses were granted to the following: <br />Grace Ll. L tirthur F. Smith Bedford St. <br />Marren A. Davis Bedford St. ' <br />George H. Fierce 'LAddle St. <br />Application for a Common Victualler's License was received <br />from Lloyd H. Chape to do business on LJ delle Street. No License <br />7'ae granted to kr. Uhase. but the Board showed inclination to <br />grant the license if he erected a proper building in tivTi_ich to do <br />the business. <br />A Guide License was granted to ;::ichael Kelley to guide about <br />the Common and other rietotical rlaces in town. <br />In regard to the pay of Robert H. --hiteI, foreman on the High- <br />way Department, the Board voted that lar. ohite be paid for the <br />three day© that he was docked on account of the suepennion, as <br />they believed that the suspension wi.�s an improper one. <br />Town Couneel advised that the Board could pay for services <br />if they believed the suspension was improper. <br />"pplication war received from Lre. lda H. B. upper of <br />I+3 ddle Street for a gasoline filling stati-)n at the juncti:n of <br />LAddle and '&alth-Im Jtreets. Hearing 7Tas eet for Sept. 11, 1923. <br />It was voted to have 'George Taylor K- Son insure the Ford <br />Sedan of the Public horke Department and also the Ford one ton <br />truck for the ".Vater Department for liability and property damage, I an long as they requevted this insurance. <br />lnaurance policy of $1300 issuEd through the office of <br />George H.
