APRIL 24, 1923. <br />' All Members Present. <br />Letter was received from the American Legion Employment <br />Uommittee, in which they ask whether or not the Board had any <br />reaeon for referring back to the Supt. of Public horke the de- <br />cieion on the discharge of Ldward B. O'Connor. They replied <br />that their reason for referring the matter back war that they <br />upheld the decision of the Supt. of Public Forks. <br />Ullr. Cowdrey of Arlington came before the Board to ask <br />that the water be installed in Hill Top Avenue. The Board in- <br />formed him that this matter would come up at the town meeting <br />and nothing could be done until the Board votes on same. <br />The appointment of an Aarersor to succeed r. ��illiam TY. <br />Reed was laid on the table. <br />The Board granted the following licenses: <br />Common Victualler's License. <br />Lars. Ave. <br />The Board signed a Warrant for a Town Meeting to be held <br />leiay 7th, 1923, said rIarrant containing article for settlement of <br />Breck-Robinson Uureery Uo claim. <br />%r. S. E. Sears of the F. h. Birch Co. 367 Boylston St. <br />Boston came before the Board to try to urge the Board to give <br />their approval of the signs at the junction of Lincoln 4: School Ste. <br />and at the northwest car. Mass. Ave. & Sylvia St. both signs being <br />5 X 5 feet metal face signs. advertising Chelmsford singer Ale. <br />It was left with kr. Harrison to view the locatione and report on <br />same. <br />The Board decided to give a hearing on May 15th to E. R. Dix <br />of Cambridge for approval of plan of land on North Hancock St. <br />called Ervirg ton Park. <br />Letter was received from Rilliam Roger Greeley of Somerset <br />' Road complaining about the gambling allowed on April 19th at the <br />Legion booth- on the Buckman Park. He asserted that the hoard <br />allowed this gambling to go on. The Board. however, on the other <br />hand replied that they did not license this gambling and further <br />
