30 c <br />tMETI1'Z , MARCH 27, 1923. , <br />All Members Present. <br />The bonds of the Town G1erk for $1000 and the Town Treasurer <br />for $80,000 were approved by the Chairman. <br />Permission was given to the Lexington Gas Company to extend <br />their main in Curve Street a distance of 120 feet. In accord- <br />ance with the Engineer's suggestion they were also notified not <br />to take for granted that they were given permission to make house <br />connections when given a main location. They must specifically <br />apply for a service location and if they find that it will require <br />a different location than that diagramed* they must then present <br />another diagram. <br />Renewal of compensation insurance on Office Employees, employees <br />of the school department, i'ovm Engineer and Assistants, Drivers, <br />Chauffeurs and helpers, office and park employees expiring Apri125th, <br />was ordered renewed. <br />The application of John Leary of 23 Waltham St. for a public <br />carriage on Maes. Ave. in front of the restaurant, was refused by <br />the Board, an this would congest traffic at that point. <br />In regard to decorating the Town Hall, the Board voted not to <br />expend any money for that purpose this year. <br />A letter of thanks was received from the American Legion for <br />the courtesy of allowing the men dismissed from their respective <br />departments to attend the funeral of Charles G. Rauffmann, <br />The Board appointed the following Aseessore for one year, or <br />until their successors are chosen. <br />Theodore A. Cuetance 'William iY. Reed <br />Charles L. Parker George H. Gibson <br />Arthur B. Hoge <br />The Board also, in accordance with the recommendations of the <br />former Board of Assessors, appointed Mr. Frederick J. Spencer and <br />Norman Skidmore as Assistant Assessors. <br />Edward C. Stone was unanimously appointed as Tovm Counsel. No <br />compensation was fixed, as that matter is to come before the Town <br />at a., later date. <br />The Board authorized Mr. Blake to secure bids on a temporery <br />loan of $175,000, the same to come due Nov. 15th. <br />Mr, Jay 0. Richards came before the Board in reference to the <br />Board of Survey lay out of a street running parallel with the <br />1 <br />0 <br />1 <br />
