' MEETINGo APR. 119 1922. <br />All Members Present. <br />The records of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Mrs. Ida H. B. Capper of Middle Street came before the <br />Board and resented plans of her proposed gasoline filling <br />station. Four hearings having been held on former applications <br />for this filling station, which was proposed to be located on <br />the southwesterly corner of Waltham and Middle Streets, the <br />Board voted not to grant Mrs. Capper another hearing. <br />Mr. Willard C. Hill again came before the Board to <br />explain the progress which is being made on getting a new rate <br />on the blanket insurance. He presented a schedule showing the <br />result of inspection of buildings and that reductions can be <br />made in the rates. Schedules for receiving Dean rate were <br />signed by the Chairman. <br />In connection with placing blanket boiler insurance, <br />Mr. Hill requested that the policies covered by the town be <br />sent to him so that he could arrange blanket insurance on same. <br />Mr. Hanley, representing Lowell Textile workers, came <br />before the Board and requeeted that a permit be granted to him <br />so that the strikers in Dowell could be aided by a flower day <br />in Lexington on April 19th. He presented credentials from the <br />Mayor of Lowell and Chief of Police of Lowell and also a permit <br />from Clinton, Mass. <br />He was informed that April 19th was considered a Lexington <br />day, and the Board would not, therefor, grant any permits to <br />outsiders to use the streets for financial aid. <br />Mr. Swan and Mr. Russell of Bedford St. again came before <br />the Board relative to getting two houses on Bedford Street <br />connected with the sewer. <br />Mr. Beaudry presented a sketch showing the proposed lay <br />out of the sewer and giving the estimated coet at $325. <br />Mr. Tenney recommended "that the sewer connection be made <br />It was decided to request the Town Counsel as to whether <br />this was a proper procedure under Chap. 322 of the Acts of 1913. <br />Mrs. Rose WhitneySmith who conducts the "Smile -a -while" <br />shop at the corner of Waltham Street and Mass. Avenue, came <br />before the Board and requested that the street sign at the <br />' corner of Waltham St, be moved as in its present location it <br />hides fromview the sign that she has placed on her shop and ae <br />a result hinders her from getting trade. <br />The Board informed her that they would look at the sign <br />and see what could be done. <br />
