26 <br />Cn <br />rz <br />MEETING, SEPT. 27v 1921. ' <br />All Lembers Present. <br />The records of the Last meeting were read and approved. <br />The Board voted to place $10,000 insurance on the boiler <br />at the Parker School, the same to be issued through the office <br />of Edwin B. Worthen. The Clerk was directed to notify <br />Mr, Edward P. l erriam, Secy of the School Committee, that <br />this insurance has been placed. <br />A reply was directed to the circular letter of the <br />Governor relative to the unemployed situation. The Governor <br />was informed that the situation in Lexington was not serious <br />but if it did become acute a town meeting would be called to <br />remedy the situation. <br />A partial return was received from the County Commissioners <br />for the relocation of several roads in Lexington, including <br />Hancock Street. <br />Legal opinion was received from the Town Counsel -relative ' <br />to selling vegetables on Sunday and week days. <br />Letter was received from the Tree '+garden in which he <br />informed the Board that the branches had been removed from the <br />large elm tree near the junction of Grove and Burlington Streets <br />but that.ovring to lack of funds and the fact that the tree <br />stood on private property he informed the owner of the <br />necessity of removal of the tree, in which case if it was not <br />taken down he would remove the same and assees the cost to <br />the owner of the property. <br />The Board informed the Tree d'Iarden that they still deemed <br />the tree to be a menace to the traveling public but requested <br />that the Tree 4arden get the advice of the Town Counsel before <br />acting in the case if he had not already done so. <br />Letter was received from Mr. F. L. Emery, Pres. Field <br />and Garden Club in which he informed the Board that unless <br />he was instructed to the contrary the club would cut the <br />grass and weeds from the Woburn Street triangle. <br />The attention of the Chief of Police was called to the <br />fact that 11r. Zuretti has not secured a license to operate <br />a public carriage and if found doing business in town he I <br />should be prosecuted. <br />
