16 <br />MEETING, AUG. 26, 1921. ' <br />Messrs. Richards & Seaman Present. <br />Allan C. Smith. Thomas G. Whiting, Edward C. Bailey and <br />William E. Anderson were drawn as jurors. <br />The Board reported the result of their inspection and <br />view of the out door advertising signs for which application <br />had been made to the Department of Public Works. <br />Letter was written to A. E. Tarbell of the Department of <br />Public Works, State House, Boston, Mass. that the Board wish <br />to go on record as protesting against any form of this out- <br />door advertising as being a detriment to the Town and tending <br />to spoil the beautiful landscape and attracting from the <br />general beauty of the country. <br />Specifically we protest against the issuing of permits <br />for the following applications: <br />No. 446 0. J. Gude Co - Reason - Obstructs view to Mass. <br />Ave. <br />No. 4645 - 0. J. Gude Co. - Reason - Obstructs view from <br />the State Road and also Waltham St* at a very dangerous corner. <br />No. 4122 - Base Ball Publishing Co. - Reason - Obutruots <br />view from School St. to State Road, <br />No. 4121 - Base Ball PublialUng Co. - Reason Obstructs <br />view from School St. and State Road. <br />We also call your attention to two signs of Phomas Cusack <br />Co. at the junction of Mass. Avenue and the State Road which <br />are not listed by you and which we think should be removed <br />as they obstruct the view of Dass.
