WE <br />MEETING, AUG. 161 1921. <br />All Members Present. <br />The records of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Sketches of three street signs, received from The Lebanon <br />Machine Company were presented to the Board for their con- <br />sideration and approval, namely Meriam, Bowman and Forest <br />Streets. <br />After examination, the Board approved the designs. <br />Mr. William T. Crowther was present representing the <br />Church of our Redeemer. He agreed that the Church of our <br />Redeemer would pay for the sign according to plan if the <br />Town would pay for the post and setting up. The Board <br />accepted his offer. <br />Application of Charles E. Hadley, Sealer of Weights azid <br />Measures requesting an appointment as a Special Police Officer <br />as he had had some trouble with a pedlar was received, and <br />after consideration was not granted. <br />The Clerk was instructed to order a badge for Mr. Hadley <br />for use as Sealer of Weights and Measures and write him that <br />if he had any further trouble to make out a complaint and <br />notify the Police Department. <br />Mr. Cotton reported on the Bacon Real Estate matter, <br />but was granted further time to continue his investigation. <br />As a matter of record the appointment of Henry W, Preston <br />as a Special Police Officer under date of Aug. 12# is -entered <br />at this time. <br />The matter of assessing betterments on Revere Street <br />was brought up. Revere Street was laid out Jan. 19,19169 <br />under the Betterment Act, Chapter 50, Revised Laws, first <br />nine sections was accepted by the Town, and the Town is about <br />to do the work laid out. <br />The Clerk was directed to write Mr. Ryder, Town Counsel <br />that the Board desire to know if Betterments can be assessed <br />at this time or ast completion of the work. <br />Notification of request for renewals of permits for <br />advertising signs was received from the Division of Highways <br />of the Department of Public Works. <br />As this notice appeared to relate to some new rules and <br />regulations, the matter was laid over for investigation and <br />further condideration. The Clerk was requested to secure <br />three copies of the Rules for Regulations of Advertising <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
