M <br />MEETING. JULY 12, 1921. <br />All Members Present. <br />The records of the last meeting were read and approved with the <br />following correction. <br />In connection with opening the bids for construction of <br />Bedford St, Mr, Albert B. Tenney of the special Highway Com- <br />mittee was present. Mr. Geo. W. Taylor being at Rockland, Me. <br />was communicated with by telephone. It was agreeable to both <br />Mr. Tenney and Mr. Taylor that the bid for construction work <br />should go to Mr. John A. Qaff ey, the lowest bidder. <br />A hearing was declared open upon application of John Rose <br />for a license to maintain a public garage to hold six care. <br />Mr. Rose and daughter, and Mr. W. E. Denham were present <br />to speak for the application. <br />Mrs. Lion C. Merry, Mr. P. F. Dacey, Mr. Edward H. Mara <br />and Henry C. Raymond were present. airs. Merry and Mr. Raymond <br />asked questions in regard to the public garage. No objections <br />were registered. <br />The Board took the matter under consideration. <br />Hearings were advertised in the Minute -man upon appli- <br />cations of Frank P. kiannigan and Mary L. Russell for licenses <br />to maintain public garages on their respective places on Muzzey <br />Street and 347 Masa. Avenue. Their applications being withdrawn <br />no hearings were held on the same. <br />It was voted to authorize Edwin B. Worthen to renew incur- <br />ance to the amount of $11.000 expiring August let, the came <br />being formerly issued through the office of John G. Fitzgerald. <br />It was also voted to authorize renewal through the office <br />of Arthur A. Marshall as follows: <br />U. C. 164696 - Maryland Cas. Co. Tree Warden 1000.00 <br />41395 11 It It 18 It 1000.00 <br />100509 - Blanket policy 1000.00 <br />1089 it It $10000.00 <br />All of the above policies expire Aug. let. 1921. <br />Letter was received from the Edison Electric Illuminating <br />Co. of Boston in which they state that they will be unable to <br />place their wires underground on Bedford Street between Elm Avenue <br />' and the railroad crossing at North Lexington. <br />Bid was received for the building of a concrete culvert at <br />Concord Avenue from John A. Gaffey of Medford for the eum of <br />$620, and from John T. Walsh of Lexington for $600. The bid was <br />
