MEETING. JULY 5. 1921. <br />All Members Present. <br />The records of the last meeting were read and ap1roved. <br />Bide were received for the reconstruction of Bedford St. <br />from Elm Avenue to the Boston & Braine RR crossing. The follow- <br />ing bids were received from the following concerns: <br />John A. Gaffey <br />Warren Bros. <br />John H. McCusker <br />Simpson Bros. <br />hanecom Conet.,Co. <br />Jae. H. Fannon <br />A. G. Tomaeello & Son <br />John W. O'Connell <br />$15760.00 <br />30515.00-Bitulithic Pav't. <br />18050.00 <br />17552.50 -Alternative- <br />17565.00 $20796.00 <br />17620.00 <br />18905.00 <br />16475.00 <br />rhe bid was awarded to John A. Gaffey, he being the <br />lowest bidder. <br />It was voted to grant Arthur Colline a license to be a <br />guide about the common subject to the approval of Dr. Fred S. <br />Piper. This license will expire May 1. 1922. <br />Letter was received from Andrew .i. Peters. Mayor of Boston, <br />in which he enclosed outline of the Edison Case and asked for <br />the assistance of Lexington. it was decided to acknowledge <br />receipt of the letter and state that owing to lack of funds <br />this town would be unable to actively co-operate with the City <br />of Boston in their endeavor to secure reduced rates from the <br />Edison Electric Illuminating Company. <br />Application for permission to excavate at 19 Parker St. <br />for theppurpose of installing gas service was received by the <br />Board. It was voted to grant a permit subject to the approval <br />of the Water & Sewer Board. <br />Letter was received from William H. Andrews of Highland <br />Avenue asking that an article be inserted in the warrant for <br />the next town meeting asking that Highland Avenue from Bloom- <br />field Street to Winthrop Road be accepted by the town. <br />Letter was received from the Maryland Casualty Company <br />giving instructions for work to be done on the boiler in the <br />Town Hall. rhe clerk was directed to have Mr. Burke make the <br />repairs on the boiler. <br />' Letter was received from Eugene C. Hultman of 64uincy <br />calling attention to chapter 325 of the Acte of 1921 which <br />relates to the Special Commission on the Necessaries of Life, <br />of which he is Chairman. <br />
