Town Celebrations Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> October 25, 2017 <br /> Parker Room, Town Office Building <br /> Members Present <br /> Lorain Marquis, Chair; Glen Bassett, Suzanne Caton, Kim Coburn, Linda Dixon, Carol Flynn, Karen <br /> Gaughan, Mary Hutton, Cerise Jalelian, Sondra Lucente, Julie Miller, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy <br /> Members Not Present <br /> June Baer, Dick Crogan, Paul Jenkins, Linda Levitt, Wayne Miller, Geetha Padaki, Sandy Podgorski, <br /> Gina Rada, Sue Stering, Dave Taylor, Bob Tracey, Sam Zales <br /> Business <br /> • The minutes of October 11, 2017 were approved. <br /> • The next meeting will be on November 1, 2017 in the Parker Room. <br /> • Carol confirmed that the nametags have been ordered and should be ready in time for the <br /> breakfast. <br /> • Lorain asked the committee if they would be willing to have our meetings at the Community <br /> Center when the Parker Room is not available. The committee was in favor of using the <br /> Community Center when necessary. <br /> Veterans Breakfast, Saturday, November 4, 2017 <br /> • Bill Mix reported that the Minutemen Fife and Drum musicians have been practicing the <br /> military service songs and will be ready to perform them live at the breakfast. The live <br /> performance will replace the recorded music used previously. <br /> • Bill also reported that Gina Rada is ordering the Merchant Marine flag because she has the <br /> budget for it. <br /> • Lorain reported that the slide show will be finished soon. Linda Dixon would like to get the <br /> length of the slide show and Lorain suggested that Linda ask Ed LoTurco for that information. <br /> • Karen Gaughan and Kim Coburn showed the design for the sandwich board posters that will be <br /> displayed at St. Brigid's. Kim noted that since she added the Town of Lexington seal as a <br /> graphic in the posters, she needs to get approval from the Board of Selectmen to use the seal. <br /> • Lorain has ordered the food for 200 people for the breakfast. There was a discussion by the <br /> committee about how many people we should expect at the breakfast and general consensus <br /> was that the number will probably be around 200. <br /> • Lorain confirmed that the breakfast is free, although tickets are required. It will be suggested <br /> that non-veterans make a $5 donation for their breakfast. <br /> • Linda reported that an article about the breakfast has been submitted to the Colonial Times and <br /> will be included in the next edition of the paper. Linda will submit another article to the <br /> Lexington Minuteman paper closer to the date of the breakfast. <br /> • After discussion, it was agreed that, as we did last year, we will provide veterans with a form <br /> that they will have to fill in, in order to enter the raffle. Kim will create a layout for the form. <br /> • Lorain initiated a discussion about assignments for committee members who will attend the <br /> breakfast. She asked that committee members wear their white TCC shirts and dark pants to <br /> the breakfast. <br /> • Glen Bassett will be the MC for the breakfast. Linda Dixon will introduce the guest speaker. <br />
