<br />Town of Lexington <br />Tourism Committee <br /> Dawn McKenna, Chair (781) 862-0500 ext 84585 <br />Minutes <br />Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 4:30 – 6:00 pm <br />Parker Room (Ground Floor Town Office Building) <br />Members Present: Kerry Brandin, Margaret Coppe, Bebe Fallick, Jon Himmel, Dawn McKenna, <br />Wim Nijenberg <br />Staff Present: Megan Zammuto <br />Center Committee Liaison: Fred Johnson <br />Guests Present: Richard Canale, Matt Mallio, Richard Pagett <br />Members Absent: Marsha Baker, Trisha Kennealy, Leeying Wu <br />1)Selectmen Goal Setting <br />The Tourism Committee reviewed the draft FY18 Goal Setting Memo to the Board of Selectmen. The committee <br />provided edits and feedback to the goals, including the priority order of the goals. The committee decided to reduce <br />the amount of words in the memo to create a more concise list of goals. <br />A motion was made to accept the goal setting memo, with edits discussed today. The motion was seconded and <br />approved unanimously. <br />2)Minutes <br />th <br />The committee reviewed the minutes from the May 10 Tourism Committee meeting. <br />th <br />A motion was made to accept the minutes from the May 10 Tourism Committee meeting. The motion was seconded <br />and approved unanimously. <br />3)Updates & Miscellaneous <br />Richard Canale discussed the comprehensive plan process that will begin this July. The oPlanning Board is looking <br />for participation from the Board of Selectmen, and the School Committee. The Planning Board is also looking to <br />establish an advisory committee made up of 12 people to work on this project, consisting of committee members and <br />residents in Lexington. <br />Richard also discussed the work that is being done on the Battle Road Scenic Byway committee. The committee is <br />currently focusing on the identity of the byway and a corridor management plan. The committee is currently working <br />on designing a website so host information about the area. Richard asked the committee to review the content for the <br />website. The committee asked about the firm used to design the website, and the committee agreed that the site should <br />be coordinated with the Tourism pages on the Town of Lexington website. <br />4)Visitors Center <br />A group of stakeholders has met twice to discuss potential conceptual designs for the Visitors Center project. The next <br />thth <br />workshop will be held on either June 26 of June 27.
