<br /> <br />COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE <br />Board of Selectmen Meeting Room <br />Monday, January 14, 2008 <br />4:00 p.m <br />. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> Betsey Weiss, Chair; Joel Adler, Norm Cohen, Marilyn Fenollosa, Wendy Manz, Leo <br />McSweeney, Richard Pagett, Judy Pearson, Sandy Shaw, Dick Wolk. David Kanter, CEC Liaison was <br />also present. <br /> <br />The agenda of the meeting was to continue reviewing and voting on FY2009 CPC Proposals – namely <br />the School Administration Building/Old Harrington project and the Munroe Center for the Arts Fire <br />Prevention System Replacement project. Pat Goddard, Tom Diaz and Fire Chief, Bill Middlemiss <br />attended to answer questions and to provide additional project information. The meeting began at 4:00 <br />p.m. and discussion was as follows: <br /> <br />1. School Administration Building/Old Harrington: <br />Patrick Goddard, Director of Facilities <br />and Grounds and Tom Diaz, Chair of the School Committee answered questions and further <br />outlined the project. The Committee supported a motion to reduce the requested amount from <br />$350,000 to $330,000 and subsequently voted 7-2 (Fenollosa, Pagett) in favor of supporting the <br />School Department’s request for $330,000. <br /> <br />2. Munroe Center for the Arts Fire Prevention System Replacement <br />: Fire Chief, Bill <br />Middlemiss answered questions. The Committee voted 8-1 (Pagett) in favor of supporting a <br />PLACEHOLDER for this project. If the Selectmen make a final decision on this property, the <br />CPC will revote. <br /> <br />3. Stone Building Renovation <br />: The Committee voted unanimously in favor of this project <br />having a PLACEHOLDER. <br /> <br />4. Land Acquisition <br />: The Committee voted unanimously to support this project having a <br />PLACEHOLDER. The placeholder article is contingent upon a specific property being named <br />before the Warrant is printed. <br /> <br />5. CPC Administrative Expenses <br />: The Committee voted unanimously to support the use of <br />$50,000 for administrative expenses. <br /> <br />A motion to approve the Public Hearing Minutes of 12/6/07 and 12/20/07, with corrections, was <br />supported unanimously by the Committee. <br /> <br />CPC Chair, Betsey Weiss adjourned the meeting at 5:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />Judy Pearson <br />Administrative Assistant to the CPC <br />J.
