<br />st <br />CPC June 21 Minutes (2006)- Selectmen’s Meeting Room <br /> <br /> <br /> Attending: <br />Leo McSweeney, Norm Cohen, Betsey Weiss, Dick Wolk, Richard Pagett, <br />Sandy Shaw, and Wendy Manz <br /> <br />Absent: <br />Marilyn Fenollosa <br /> <br />1. Meeting came to order at 5:10pm. <br />2. Betsey Weiss reported that she had met with Candy McLaughlin and Candy was <br />going to make the committee’s recommendations to the CPC web site.( The <br />changes have been made.) If there are any more recommendations, please let <br />Betsey know. <br />3. Betsey reported that the Colonial Times had printed the CPC Update in the June <br />C.T.’s issue. She had also met with Bethan Jones and Bethan was going to write <br />an article asking for CPC project applications in the Minuteman. <br />4. Committee members then reviewed various towns’ CPC Needs Assessment Plans <br />to use as a model for Lexington’s CPC Plan. The following plans were discussed: <br />Weston (16pages), Sudbury (11pages), Needham (24 pages), Wellesley (31 <br />pages), and Newton (41pages). The majority of the committee liked the shorter <br />versions. Carl Valente, who had been asked earlier, said he preferred the <br />Wellesley version. <br />5. The committee informally decided to follow the Wellesley version <br />http://www.wellesley.ma.gov. However, since some of the committee members <br />liked shorter versions, it was decided that each person would decide on the length <br />of his/her section. <br />6. The sections were divided as follows: Index- Richard P., Overview- Joel, Historic <br />Preservation- Marilyn, Affordable Housing- Norm and Leo, Open Space- Dick <br />Wolk, Recreation- Sandy, Appendix I- Application for Funding- Richard P., <br />Appendix II- Plans, Documents, and Studies- Wendy, Appendix III- Glossary- <br />Richard P., Appendix IV- list of committee members. <br />7. Two questions came up during the meeting whether the sound system in Cary <br />Hall and the Lexington Flick, a private business, were CPA eligible projects? <br />Both need to be checked on. <br />th <br />8. It was decided to have a first draft deadline of each section on July 26 and the <br />th <br />next meeting Wed. Aug. 9 at 5:00pm. <br />9.
