3/20/2024 AC Minutes <br />1 <br />Minutes <br />Town of Lexington Appropriation Committee (AC) <br />March 20, 2024 <br />Place and Time: Hudson Room, Cary Memorial Building, and also remote participation via a Zoom <br />teleconferencing session that was open to the public; 7:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m. <br />Members Present: Glenn Parker, Chair; Sanjay Padaki, Vice-Chair (remote participant); Alan Lev- <br />ine, Secretary; John Bartenstein; Anil Ahuja; Eric Michelson; Sean Osborne (remote participant); <br />Carolyn Kosnoff, Assistant Town Manager, Finance (non-voting, ex officio) <br />Members Absent: Lily Yan (arrived close to the end of the meeting) <br />Other Attendees: Jay Luker, town meeting member (remote participant) <br />At 7:05 p.m. Mr. Parker called the meeting to order and confirmed that the members who joined the <br />meeting remotely were audible. <br />Announcements and Liaison Reports <br />Mr. Bartenstein reported that he found a very recent Informational Guideline Release (IGR) from <br />the state Division of Local Services that outlines the rules associated with recent legislation regard- <br />ing a local option that allows municipalities to exempt affordable housing properties from some or <br />all real estate taxes. General discussion of the option followed. <br />Warrant Articles for Annual Town Meeting <br />There are town meeting members who would like to remove Article 12(j) from the Consent <br />Agenda, because it does not cover consideration of provisions for future installation of solar cano- <br />pies. <br />Approve Minutes of Prior Meetings <br />Approval of draft set of minutes for the Committee’s meeting on March 11, which were circulated <br />only a few hours before the present meeting, was deferred to the next meeting to give members a <br />chance to review them. <br />Future Meeting Schedule <br />Mr. Parker stated that the next meeting would be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, prior to the <br />start of the third night of the 2024 Annual Town Meeting. <br />Adjourn <br />The meeting was adjourned at 7:16 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Alan M.
