Resolutions on the Death of Edwin 5. <br />Spaulding. <br />WHEREAS, It has seemed fitting to an all -wise Provi- <br />dence to take from us our beloved councellor, associate <br />and friend, Edwin Sumner Spaulding, and <br />WHEREAS, The Town of Lexington, which he loved so <br />well and served faithfully for many years has sustained a <br />grievous loss, be it <br />Resolved, That in the death of Edwin Sumner Spauld- <br />ing, we, his co-workers in office, testify by these resolutions <br />to his upright character, spotless integrity, sincerity of pur- <br />pose and christian charity toward all men ; that we place <br />upon record this testimonial of our love and esteem for him, <br />and be it further <br />Resolved, That the entire community suffers the loss of <br />one who was ever conscientious and just in the discharge of <br />duty, both as a private citizen and as an officer of the <br />Town, kind and generous to all, and of whom it may be <br />truly said : "Well done thou good and faithful servant," <br />and be it further <br />Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to <br />the immediate family and spread upon the records of the <br />Town. <br />GEo.
