LEXINGTON TOWN RECORDS. <br />(FROM TOWN CLERK'S RECORD.) <br />WARRANT FOR A TOWN MEETING. <br />MONDAY, MARCH 6, 1893. <br />To WILLIAM B. FOSTER, Constable of Lexington, <br />GREETING : — <br />In the name of the Commonwealth of Massa- <br />chusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn <br />the inhabitants of the town of Lexington qualified by <br />law to vote in town affairs, to assemble at the Town <br />Hall on Monday, the sixth day of March, A. D. 1893, <br />at seven o'clock A. M., to act on the following articles, <br />namely: - <br />ART. 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting. <br />Doted, That the polls remain open five minutes for <br />choice of Moderator. On ballot with the use of check <br />list, Robert P. Clapp was unanimously chosen as <br />Moderator, and was sworn by the Clerk. <br />ART. 2. To choose by ballot the following town officers : One <br />Town Clerk, three Selectmen who shall also be Overseers of the <br />Poor and Surveyors of Highways, three Assessors, three members of <br />the Board of Health, one town Treasurer, one Collector of Taxes, <br />two Auditors, two Constables, all for the term of one year, one <br />member of the School Committee for the term of three years, one <br />member of the Cemetery Committee for the term of three years. <br />ART. 3. To see if the town will vote for or against granting <br />licenses for the sale of intoxicating liquors, in answer to the <br />question, " Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxicating <br />liquors in this town ?" <br />The election officers will receive votes under Articles <br />2 and 3, on the official ballot prepared by the Town <br />Clerk. <br />The polls will be opened as soon as possible after <br />the organization of the meeting, and shall be kept <br />open until five o'clock P. M. <br />ARTS. 2 and 3. George D. Harrington and Robert <br />J. Elliott, who had been appointed ballot clerks by the <br />Selectmen, were sworn by the Moderator; and they <br />signed for the ballots delivered to them by the Town <br />Clerk; the ballot box was shown to, be empty and the <br />key thereof delivered to the constable in attendance. <br />Check lists were furnished the Moderator and ballot <br />clerks, and the polls were declared open, and the <br />balloting proceeded. <br />The following additional election officers were <br />appointed by the Moderator and duly sworn to the <br />faithful discharge of their duties. <br />George H.
