<br />Minutes <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />May 25, 2016 <br />Cafe, 201 Bedford Street <br />Members present <br />Lorain Marquis, Rich McDonough, co-chairs; Suzanne Caton, Kim Coburn, Linda Dixon, Carol Flynn, Karen <br />Gaughan, Cerise Jalelian, Linda Levitt, Julie Miller, Wayne Miller, Henry Murphy, Bill Mix, Sandy Podgorski, <br />Bob Tracey <br />Members not present <br />Diana Bishop, Paul Jenkins, Melanie Lin, Sondra Lucente, Geetha Padaki, Dave Taylor, Sam Zales <br />Business <br />The Chair declared that a quorum was present. <br />Gresh Lattimore and Sam Doran, who will participate in the Memorial Day Parade, attended as guests. <br />The minutes of May 11, 2016 were approved with minor corrections. <br />Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2016 <br />Individual Updates <br />Wayne Miller: Will pick up microphones at Visitors Center and have on the bus at 8:30. <br />Bob Tracey: Will pick up wreaths and water. <br />Bill Mix: Worked out with Narrator Gresh Lattimore the proper protocol and sequence for giving commands to <br />salute at the wreath laying sites. <br />Kim Coburn: Katherine Courtemanche will again sing the National Anthem with the LHS Band. Trumpeters <br />Derek Schneider and Justin Oh will play Taps and Echo. <br />Linda Dixon: Articles about the Grand Marshal Bill Tighe and Keynote Speaker will be in the Colonial Times <br />and Lexington Minuteman this week. Grand Marshal will arrive at police station at 9:30 a.m. Speaker will go <br />directly to the Green. Clergy all set. <br />Carol Flynn: Will arrange for Girl Scout representation. <br />Sandy Podgorski: Has received permission from DPW to place six flags around memorial World War I trees on <br />the Green. <br />Suzanne Caton: Has prepared scripts for Narrator and Master of Ceremonies as well as program of the day. <br />Lorain Marquis: Parking meters in front of Cary Hall will be bagged and “no parking” signs will be placed <br />along the stretch of Massachusetts Avenue in front of Buckman Tavern. Facilities will provide the podium, <br />microphone and 20 chairs for the ceremony on the Green. <br />The Committee and Narrator then reviewed the sequence of events for Memorial Day in detail, making <br />adjustments and fine-tuning where necessary.
