<br />9/21/2016 AC Minutes <br />Minutes <br />Town of Lexington Appropriation Committee(AC) <br />September21, 2016 <br />: ReedRoom,Town OfficeBuilding,6:30p.m. <br />: Glenn Parker, Chair;John Bartenstein, Vice Chair and Secretary;Kate Colburn; <br />Mollie Garberg; AlanLevine;Eric Michelson;RichardNeumeier; Andrei Radulescu-Banu <br />Members Absent:Rob Addelson <br />Membership Note:A ninth member has not yet been appointed. <br />Others Present:ElaineAshton,Town Meeting member <br />The meetingwas calledto order at 6:39pm. <br />1.Announcements: <br />None <br />2.Liaison Reports: <br />Mr. Michelson reportedthat he will be serving as liaison tothe Tier 3 Sub-Group for Aesthetics and <br />Amenities under the Ad Hoc Center Streetscape Committee. <br />Ms. Colburn reported that the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee agreed to release $415 <br />thousand to pay for a site study of the Harrington Elementary School. The funds had been <br />appropriated in March 2015 and their use was subject to approval by the Board of Selectmen and <br />the School Committee. Mr. Bartenstein questioned whether the amount was more than necessary for <br />the study being performed. Ms. Colburn stated that the study would take place over a 13-month <br />timeline and would include the following issues: <br />Location for Pre-K and potential traffic issues <br />Expanded elementary classroom space <br />Access via conservation land <br />Space for the School Central Office <br />3.Minutes <br />The Committee reviewed minutes for July 14, 2016, August 23, 2016 (Executive Session), <br />September 1, 2016, and September 12, 2016. <br />A motion was made and seconded to release the minutes of the August 23, 2016 Executive Session, <br />and to approve all the minutes. The motion passed. VOTE: 8-0 <br />4.Articles for Special Town Meeting (STM) 2016-5 <br />Mr. Neumeier voted in favor of recommending Articles 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 on the Warrant for Special <br />Town Meeting 2016-5. This made the votes of the Committee unanimous for all articlesof interest <br />to the Committee. <br />1 <br /> <br />
