<br />A Meeting of the Lexington Youth Commission was held on Thursday,January 18th,2023.The
<br />meeting began at 7:00pm in the LHS Library Media Center

<br />1.Reading of December,2023 Minutes and Approve
<br />-Sofia read through the December minutes from the last meeting.They were approved by
<br />the committee and sent to archives.
<br />2.Senior Valentine Luncheon,St.Patrick Day Luncheon
<br />-Tom talked about the Senior Luncheons.At this time they are only taking 3-4 volunteers.
<br />We are going to pass on the lunches,and are hoping down the road they will have other
<br />opportunities for LYC to go as a group and interact with the Seniors.
<br />3.Valentine Day Cards for Nursing Homes and Community Center Seniors
<br />-Deb talked about the Valentines Day Cards.We will be delivering these cards to our
<br />nursing homes in the area,along with cards to the Community Center for the Seniors.
<br />-Each member received an envelope with valentine cards,envelopes,stickers,and a
<br />sheet with ideas you can write in the cards.Each card should have a personal note
<br />inside,sign your name or Lexington Youth Commission,with a sticker on it.
<br />-Everyone must bring their completed cards back to the next meeting.If you are
<br />not able to attend the meeting ,make sure your cards are delivered prior to the meeting.
<br />We will be distributing the cards that evening.

<br />4.Lions EyeGlass Project,March 2024
<br />-Duncan described the project we do with The Lions Club If usable these glasses are
<br />sent to third world countries where they are distributed to people who have vision
<br />problem.s We as a committee will come together and clean the glasses.Last year,in
<br />one sitting we cleaned over 3,000 glasses.
