PLANNING BOARD MINUTES <br /> MEETING OF AUGUST 25, 1999 <br /> The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board held in the Selectmen's Room Town Office Building,was <br /> called to order at 7.40 p.m. by Chairman Davies with members Bridge-Denzak, Colman,Merrill, Planning <br /> Director Bowyer, and Assistant Planner Garber present. Mr. Galaitsis was absent. <br /> ******************************* EXECUTIVE SESSION ********************************** <br /> At 7.42 p.m., on the motion of Mr Colman, seconded by Mr. Davies, the Board voted unanimously to go <br /> into executive session to discuss personnel matters. <br /> <br /> <br /> The executive session was adjourned at 9.10 p.m. <br /> **************************** COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING **************************** <br /> 127 Land Use Element <br /> a. What's In The Land Use Element?Part Two: Mr.Bowyer reported that Philip Herr, of Philip B. Herr <br /> and Associates,planning consultants,has been hired to assist the Board in moving toward the preparation of <br /> an RFP by outlining the trends affecting Lexington's future and techniques for guiding future development <br /> that the Board should consider <br /> b. Relationship to the 20/20 Strategic Planning Groun: Mr. Merrill said that the four strategic <br /> workshops planned by the Selectmen's Strategic Planning Group will lead to a town-wide goal statement. <br /> Lexington is a mature suburb,not a developing community with a lot of land.Mr Garber commented that <br /> this effort affords an opportunity to re-examine density and scale in Lexington Mr Bowyer showed <br /> examples of other towns' comprehensive plans. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 p.m. /a /J <br /> Anthony .
