PLANNING BOARD MINUTES <br /> [-- MEETING OF APRIL 26, 1993 <br /> The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board held in Room G-15, Town Office <br /> Building, was called to order at 7 05 p.m. by Chairman Williams, with members <br /> Canale, Davison, Domnitz, Grant, Planning Director Bowyer, and Assistant <br /> Planner Marino present. <br /> ************************ PLANNING DIRECTOR'S REPORT *********************** <br /> 57. Staff Reports <br /> a. MAPD Annual Review of Land Court Cases Mr. Bowyer reported that the <br /> Mass. Association of Planning Directors meets each year with representa- <br /> tives of the Mass. Association of Town Counsels to conduct an annual <br /> review of land court cases. Mr Bowyer briefly described some of the <br /> most important cases. Copies of the review will be made for the Board <br /> for future discussion <br /> b APA National Conference. May 1-5 Mr. Bowyer reported he will attend <br /> the conference in Chicago. <br /> c. Suggested Corrections to the Zoning By-Law Town Meeting member Ephraim <br /> Weiss has submitted a lengthy list of corrections he believes are needed <br /> to Zoning By-Law <br /> d Marrett Road Safety Imnrovements Mr. Bowyer reported that the Planning <br /> Department has received the Final Environmental Impact Report for the <br /> Marrett Road safety improvements. It contains all of the issues raised <br /> by all concerned groups and the responses to them. Mrs. Davison <br /> borrowed the FEIR. <br /> ***************** ADMINISTRATION OF LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS ************ <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS ON APPLICATIONS TO THE BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> 58. Annlications To Be Heard on April 29. 1993 Mr Williams gave an oral <br /> review of the following applications <br /> 141 Massachusetts Avenue, Joseph Valerio, Dunkin' Donuts, special permit <br /> to operate fast-food and take-out service business in the CRS district <br /> It was agreed that the Planning Board, in its recommendation, will <br /> applaud the applicant for including a landscape plan with the applica- <br /> tion for the special permit. The Board will note that the East Lexing- <br /> ton Neighborhood Association has developed plans for street trees in <br /> this area and believes that the proposed landscaping should be compati- <br /> ble with these plans. The Board will note that bituminous curbing is <br /> being proposed and recommend that granite curbing, which would protect <br /> the proposed plantings from plows, be used instead. <br /> Although signs are not included in this application, the Board will <br /> express concerns about how signs at this establishment will relate to <br /> signs at neighboring establishments. The Board will request that the <br /> Design Advisory Committee address this issue. <br /> 46 Bedford Street, Shell Oil Company, variance to install a canopy over <br /> existing pump island adjacent to Bedford Street, and <br />
