Lincoln Park Sub - Committee
Meeting Minutes
July 27, 2016
Attendees: David Williams, Chairman, Robert Pressman, Lynne Wilson, Doug Lucente, Joanne
Shorter, Brian Kelley, and Wesley Wirth.
Chairman opened the meeting at 7:35PM
Meeting Minutes - the committee reviewed and approved the Minutes from May 24, 2016.
Drought Conditions - Chairman noted that we are experiencing drought conditions at Lincoln
Park. Many of the plantings are suffering. Intensely hand watering the area over the next week
was discussed. The plants are native species and drought tolerant, but this year has been very dry.
The area most at risk is the "mounds" which has the widest variety of species. Parterre will be
contacted by Brian Kelley to assist with this watering plan.
Bathroom Area - The bathroom area plantings are also suffering because of the lack of irrigation
in that zone. The Chairman presented and the committee voted to notify the Recreation
Department that we would be turning the maintenance of the ground area near the Bathroom
over to them since we cannot keep anything growing. It should become grass instead of
plantings.
Granite Forest - Per the Chairman's discussion with the Town Treasurer all hardscape has to go
out to bid. Three quotes will be required.
Wesley Wirth reviewed the current drawings of the Granite Forest, and discussed the options for
the level and pathways into the area being developed. Wesley Wirth will look into performing
some test pits in advance of determining the final plan.
Next meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 7:30pm.
The meeting adjourned at 8:45PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Doug Lucente
AUG 2016
RECREATION NO
