<br /> <br /> <br />Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250) <br />July 11, 2023 Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk, the Semiquincentennial Commission <br />(Lex250) convened in a meeting at the Town Office Building Tuesday, July 11 at 4:50 pm. <br /> <br />Present in person: <br />Suzie Barry, Select Board Member, Chair <br />Jillian Tung, Music & Arts Representative, Clerk <br />Paul O’Shaughnessy, Historical Organization Representative <br />Bebe Fallick, Tourism Committee Representative <br />Mona Roy, Community Representative, Vice Chair <br />Cerise Jalelian, Town Celebrations Committee Representative <br /> <br />Absent: <br />Julie O’Leary, Civic Representative <br />Noah Michelson, Community Representative <br />Barry Cunha, Business Representative <br />Jane Hundley, Department Head, Social Sciences, Grades 6 - 8 <br />Steve Conners, Reenactment Community Representative <br /> <br />● The meeting was called to order at 4:50 pm by Ms. Barry. <br />● The group briefly discussed projects in progress and goals. <br />● Mr. O’Shaughnessy said that re-enactors will be present throughout the weekend when <br />not participating in events to interact with the public at historic sites. <br />● Ms. Barry pointed out that we need to identify the dates of opening and closing events <br />and suggested we consider having an event to mark the 1 yr countdown on April 19. <br />● Ms. Barry suggested that in order to enhance the effectiveness of the Commission, we <br />need to increase the number of seats from 11 to 15. She suggested adding roles for <br />transportation, fundraising, security, and publicity. <br />● Ms. Barry proposed reorganizing working groups as follows. She emphasized that these <br />suggested roles would be re-visited and discussed further at our next meeting. The group <br />discussed the proposed structure and possible staffing assignments. <br />■ Education <br />■ History and literature <br />■ Music and arts <br />■ Volunteers <br />■ Permanent memorial <br />■ Social media <br />■ Fundraising <br />■ Publicity <br />■ Merchandising <br />■ Hospitality <br /> <br />
