PLANNING BOARD MINUTES r <br /> MEETING OF MARCH 20, 1995 <br /> The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board held in Room G-15, Town Office Building, was called <br /> to order at 7:32 p.m. by Chairman Vice Chairman Canale, with members Davies Grant, Merrill, <br /> Planning Director Bowyer, and Assistant Planner Marino present. Mrs. Davison was absent. <br /> **************************************** MINUTES ************************************** <br /> 52. Review of Minutes: The Board reviewed the minutes for the meeting of February 13, 1995. On <br /> the motion of Mr. Grant, seconded by Mr. Merrill, it was voted 3-0 to approve the minutes, as written. <br /> Mr. Davies abstained from voting as he was not present at that meeting. <br /> ******************************* PUBLIC PARTICIPATION ****************************** <br /> 53. Winshiro-Reed Farm. Summer and Lowell Street: David Hornstein, 15 Westminster Avenue, asked <br /> for time to speak about his recently formed group, the Save the Winship-Reed Farm Committee. The <br /> Committee is trying to find people interested in buying and restoring the farm house on land recently <br /> purchased by Mark Moore Homes, Inc. Its members believe that the house could be restored and <br /> used, for example, as a school or day care center. Other interested persons spoke. Mr. Merrill agreed <br /> to work with the group on the issue. <br /> ****************** PLANNING BOARD ORGANIZATION, SCHEDULE ******************* <br /> 54. Organizational Matters: 11 <br /> a. Welcome to New Member: On behalf of the Board, Mr. Canale welcomed newly elected member <br /> John Davies and expressed their pleasure at having him on the Board. <br /> b. Signature sheets for Registry of Deeds and Land Court: As required by State statute, the Board <br /> endorsed signature sheets, required to be on file with the Registry of Deeds and the Land Court, <br /> reflecting the current membership of the Board and staff members authorized to sign for the Board. <br /> *************************** PLANNING DIRECTOR'S REPORT ************************** <br /> 55. Recent Activity <br /> a. Citizen Planning Training Initiative: Mr. Bowyer reported on a new training program being <br /> initiated by a coalition of planning organizations. He has been the Massachusetts Association of <br /> Planning Directors (MAPD) representative and has written part of the curriculum for the training <br /> modules. He encouraged the Board to sign up for the sessions. <br /> b. Tree Hearing on East Street: In response to Mr. Canale's question about a tree removal hearing <br /> that was held near Zaroohy Seed's proposed subdivision off East Street, Mr. Bowyer responded quite <br /> a few people attended the hearing. Many of those who attended were against removing the tree. The <br /> Selectmen will decide the fate of the tree at their meeting on March 20. <br /> ******************************** EXECUTIVE SESSION ********************************* <br /> On the motion of Mr. Merrill, seconded by Mr. Grant, Mr. Canale polled the individual members of <br /> the Board who voted unanimously to go into Executive Session at 8:35 p.m. to consider the exchange, <br />
