TOWN OF LEXINGTON
TRUSTEES OF PUBLIC TRUSTS
Minutes of Meeting of November 6, 2014
The meeting was held at 12 :00 pm at the offices of Atlantic Trust at 100 Federal Street,
Boston, MA. Present were Alan Fields, David Williams and Susan McClements,
Alan Fields reported that the portfolio remains diversified across various assets consistent
with established benchmarks.
Investment Committee member Lou Conrad resigned earlier this year due to time
constraints. The Trustees are in the process of seeking a new member for the conunittee.
Minutes from the February 4, 2014 meeting were unanimously approved.
David Williams reported that he submitted the annual report to the town by the
September 30 #r' deadline. David has a template for the report on his computer.
After some discussion, it was agreed that David will contact the Bathon Family. The
Bathon Family has moved from Lexington and no longer makes annual contributions to
its named scholarship fund leaving it too small to make annual grants. David will seek
permission to combine the Bathon Family Scholarship Fund into the Lexington PTA
Scholarship Fund.
The Trustees agreed that Alan will inquire whether the Fund for Lexington will pay again
this year for the planting of barrels in town center. David received a quote from McCue's
for the work.
The Trustees are concerned that the Pocket Park design is incompatible with historic
nature of Lexington Center. Alan will share the trustees concerns with HDC member
Marilyn Fennoloso prior to the HDC hearing on the design.
David presented a proposal from John Bernhardt for a Housing Fund. David will let John
know that Trustees are interested in hearing more about the proposal if he can partner
with an established organization capable of taking on and sustaining the administration of
the program.
Next meeting February 18, 2015
