{
"
Town of Lexington
Trustees of Public Trusts
Minutes of Meeting
A meeting of the Trustees was held at 12 :00 noon on April 12,
1991 at 265 Franklin Street, Boston, Massachusetts. Present were
Trustees Alan S. Fields, Thomas G. Taylor and David G. Williams,
and Sheryl Mason.
The minutes of the meeting of February 28, 1991 were read and
accepted.
It was voted to approve the purchase on March 28, 1991 for
the Westview Cemetery Fund of 100 shares of American
International Group and $50,000 GTE debentures 8.85 due 3/1/91.
It was voted to accept the Lexington Community Playground
Fund upon the terms set forth in a letter from Kerry Brandin
dated March 22, 1991, a copy of which is attached to these
minutes.
It was voted to approve the payment of $300.00 from the Hayes
Fountain Fund to the Lexington Field and Garden Club for flowers
for the fountain.
The chairman had received a request from Cary Memorial
Library for an additional $1,000 donation to pay for the
Philipowski statue. It was voted to make this payment from the
George L. Gilmore fund.
It was brought to the attention of the Trustees that the
principal balance of the F. Foster Sherburne and Tenney Sherburne
Fund was originally $25,000, but now appears on the books as
being $24,000. It was voted to transfer $1,000 from income to
principal to restore the principal balance to the original
amount.
Mr. Williams reported that the Hampton Road Tree Fund was
originally established by the developer of the Hampton Road
subdivision to replace any trees which died. The tree warden has
reported that all of the trees are living and healthy and that
this fund is no longer necessary. Subject to a confirmation from
the tree warden, it was voted to close out the Hampton Road Tree
Fund and transfer all principal and interest to the George W.
Taylor Tree Fund.
The Trustees received and reviewed a report from Steven Baran
showing income and expenditures of the Lexington Human Services
Fund for the period from January 1, 1991 through March 31, 1991.
