<br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br />June 12 2023 <br />4:02 p.m. <br />held by remote participation <br /> <br />Present: Doug Lucente, Chair; Norman Cohen; Ed Grant; Rev. Claire Feingold Thoryn; Joe Pato; Alan <br />Fields, Melissa Interess, Director of Human Services and Kim Katzenback, Executive Clerk to the Select <br />Board. <br />Mr. Lucente stated the remote participation meeting is being held remotely as posted with the agenda. <br />1) Money Available as of 5/31/2023 Ending Principal balance: $300,982.74 <br /> Ending Income balance: $3,459.41 <br /> <br />2) Human Services <br />Human Services Report <br />Ms. Interess reported the following activity for the Human Services funds dispersed for the period: <br />• Fund for Lexington <br />o $390.09 out of the Heating Assistance Program for one family (Remaining balance - <br />$3,453.35) <br />• Human Services Emergency Fund (non COVID related) $4,554 Rent assistance for three families <br />• Human Services Gift Fund (non COVID related) $1,800 damage repairs for 1 family <br />• Lexpress subsidized passes fiscal year to date - 38 passes and 5 replacement passes for a total <br />value of $8,980 <br />• Gift Cards - $875 in food/clothing cards; Wegman’s Gift Card Program $26,175 disbursed to 136 <br />households <br />• Covid-19 Financial Assistance (Takeda and FFL Contributions) <br />o Disbursed $2,475 on 1/31/023 for Covid-19 related assistance <br />▪ Takeda Balance: $38,411.82 <br />▪ FFL Balance: $25,000 <br /> <br />Discuss Potential Parameters for the $25,000 FFL Covid-19 Financial Assistance Contribution <br />Ms. Interess noted there is a bigger need for funding related to housing financial assistance. She spoke of <br />a partnership program available from Metro Housing Boston. The cost of this partnership program is <br />$14,000 annually, which would provide Lexington with a housing case manager, a half day a week, or <br />once every other week. <br /> <br />Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 6-0 to disperse <br />$14,000 from the Fund for Lexington COVID balance for a one-year partnership with the Metro Housing <br />Boston program to assist with housing issues for Lexington residents. <br /> <br />3) Proposed Meeting dates <br />The Board reviewed and confirmed the following dates for upcoming Fund for Lexington Board <br />meetings: <br />• September 11, 2023 <br />• December 4, 2023 <br /> <br />4) Approval of March 13, 2023 Meeting Minutes <br />On a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 6-0 to approve the <br />March 13, 2023 meeting minutes.
