Town of Lexington <br />Tourism Committee <br />Dawn McKenna, Chair (781) 862 -0500 ext 84585 <br />Minutes <br />Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. — 5:00 p.m. <br />Community Center <br />Minutes of the meeting of <br />March 31, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. <br />Community Center <br />Members Present: Marsha Baker, Kerry Brandin, Trisha Kennealy, Dawn McKenna, Wim Nijenberg, <br />Staff Present: Masha Traber, Megan Zammuto <br />Absent: Bebe Fai ick, Margaret Coppe, Leeying Wu <br />Guests Present: Fred Johnson, John Himmel <br />1) Report to Town Meeting <br />The committee discussed the process surrounding the Tourism Committee report to Town <br />Meeting. Committee members discussed the opportunity to present tourism statistics in front of <br />the Board of Selectmen. Although as a standing Committee of Town Meeting the advance <br />approval of our report by the Board of Selectmen is not required, the Committee decided to <br />honor Joe Pato's request and present the report to the Board of Selectmen prior to presenting at <br />Town Meeting. <br />2) Tourism Committee's Representative to Selectmen's Center Streetscape Committee /New <br />Tourism Committee Member <br />The committee discussed the options of who to recommend per the Selectmen's request. <br />Upon Motions duly made and seconded, (Trisha Kenneal /Marsha Baker) it was unanimously <br />voted to request that Jon Himmel be appointed to the Tourism Committee to fall the current <br />vacancy, and that further, Jon Himmel be recommended to serve as the Tourism Committee's <br />Center Streetscape liaison. <br />3) Liberty Ride /Battle Green Guide Operations <br />The Liberty Ride and Battle Green programs begin this weekend. The committee discussed the <br />logistics to beginning a successful season for both programs. <br />4) Tourism Committee Operations — Staff Update <br />Megan Zammuto discussed the upcoming Tourism Training program. She updated the <br />committee the list of expected attendees, the keynote speaker, and the agenda for the program. A <br />brief update on Revolutionary Revelry was also provided. <br />Adjourned at approximately 4:40 pm <br />Respectfully submitted, Megan J.
