<br />APPROVED MEETING MINUTES <br />Committee Name: Lexington Bicycle Advisory Committee <br />Date, Time and Location of Meeting: May 19, 2016, Community Center <br />Members Present <br />: Peggy Enders (Chair), Bob Dangel, Carolyn Levi, Bob Hausslein <br />(FoLB Chair), Sandra Shaw (Recreation Liaison), Laurel Carpenter, George Gagliardi. <br />Marita Hartshorn. <br />Members Absent: John Frey, Mike Tabaczynski <br />Others present: Jennifer Melot, Elaine Ashton <br /> <br />Review April Meeting Minutes <br />: The April 2016 minutes were approved as submitted. <br />Minuteman Bikeway Signage: <br />David Kucharsky, Mike Tabaczynski, Bob Dangel, Bob <br />Hausslein, and Peggy reviewed the current status of the Toole Group design plan and are <br />working toward reducing the number of signs proposed by Toole as well as improving the <br />messaging, particularly with respect to user behavior. <br />Input to Selectmen’s Goal Setting: <br />The Committee reviewed its draft to the Board of <br />Selectmen and recommended a Section II title change (“…to advance to Silver Bike <br />Friendly Community status…” and adds a reference to the Town Manager’s office in the <br />last paragraph of Section III. The Committee unanimously approved the draft with these <br />changes. <br />Tri-Town Meeting Agenda: <br />Joey Glushko from Arlington asked for the Tri-Town meeting <br />agenda items. Peggy said an obvious discussion item would be the Minuteman Bikeway <br />th <br />25 anniversary celebration. Jennifer is interested in helping to be involved in planning. <br />Liaison Reports: <br />Sandra Shaw reported that the Bike Smart Safety Day (part of Bike <br />thth <br />Walk ‘n Bus Week) went very well. About 25 4 and 5 graders participated; the leaders <br />were Bruce Kulik and Pat Bibbins, who were paid by the Friends, and Bike Committee <br />volunteers and Brian Savage from the Police Department were on hand to help. Peggy <br />said she is very grateful to the Recreation Department – Peter Coleman, in particular – for <br />all their help with the registration and venue. She said she hopes this becomes a Town <br />sponsored activity in the future. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 pm. <br /> <br />
