<br /> <br />LEXINGTON DESIGN ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />Minutes of Meeting of November 11, 2013 <br /> <br /> <br />A meeting of the Design Advisory Committee was held on November 6, 2013 at 7:30 pm in the Ellen Stone <br />room of Cary Hall. A quorum of six was present. <br /> <br /> <br />Members Present: <br />Tim Lee (Chair), Bruce Creager, Steve Vincent, John Frey, Brigitte Steines, Alenka <br /> <br />Slezak, Bahig Kaldas <br />Members Absent: <br /> Richard Friedson, Ginna Johnson <br /> <br />Approvals <br />: <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were approved with minor corrections <br /> <br />The meeting acted on the following items: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />389 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MAToyota Dealership, modifications to an existing special permit <br />The DAC reviewed the proposed modifications to the existing special permit application at our regular <br />meeting and had the following comments and recommendations. <br />1. Some DAC members commented that they would prefer to see a one for one replacement of the trees <br />removed and that replicating the previous tree canopy massing was important. <br />2. After reviewing the proposed alterations to the previously approved landscape plan the DAC <br />members recommended that more trees be added at a larger size along Massachusetts Avenue to <br />replicate the previous tree canopy. It was recommended that at least two additional trees be added <br />increasing the total number of Shademaster Honeylocust to eight. This is reflected on the revised <br />planting plan dated 12 November 2013. <br />3. The DAC recommended increasing the size of the proposed Shademaster Honeylocust trees to a <br />minimum caliper size taken at breast height of three and a half inches to four inches. <br />4. The DAC also recommended that the plant bed for each tree be as large as possible. <br /> <br />5. The DAC did not have any issues with the plant selection. <br /> <br />The following documents/exhibits were presented and reviewed at the meeting: <br />1. Proposed Planting Plan for Lexington Toyota dated 24 October 2013 <br />2. Proposed Planting Plan for Lexington Toyota REVISED 12 November 2013 <br /> <br />The Design Advisory Committee recommends approval of this application pending compliance with <br />the above noted recommendations. If further changes are made to the plan or final installation the DAC <br />asks that the applicant notify the DAC for review and approval prior to implementation. <br /> <br />1.
