Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250) <br />October 6,2022 Meeting Minutes <br />Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk,the Semiquincentennial Commission <br />(Lex250)convened in a meeting via Zoom video conference on Thursday,October 6,2022 at <br />7:03 pm as allowed by legislation (S.2475)extending the suspension of certain provisions of the <br />Massachusetts Open Meeting Law. <br />Present:Steve Conners (Reenactment Community),Cerise Jalelian (Town Celebrations <br />Committee Representative),Mona Roy (Community Representative),Jillian Tung (Music &Arts <br />Representative),Bebe Fallick (Tourism Committee Representative),Barry Cunha (Business <br />Representative),Suzie Barry (Select Board Member),Julie O’Leary (Civic Representative), <br />Cerise Jalelian (Town Celebrations Committee Representative)Paul O’Shaughnessy (Historical <br />Organization Representative) <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm by Ms.Barry. <br />1.Community engagement/Lex 250 kick off meeting <br />a.Cary Library large meeting room space <br />b.Wednesday,October 12,2022 at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm <br />c.Ms.Roy indicated that she received a robust response from community members <br />and organizations to whom invitations were sent <br />d.The meeting is open to all community members <br />e.Commission members will follow up with those invitees who have not yet <br />responded.Each member is asked to choose 5 -10 invitees from a spreadsheet to <br />be distributed by Ms.Roy <br />f.The event will be posted as a town committee meeting <br />g.Meeting format: <br />i.Open with video,followed by outline of working groups <br />ii.The ask:invitations to volunteer (Ms.Tung) <br />iii.Invitations for community groups to participate (Ms.Roy) <br />iv.Twitter/social media (Mr.Conners) <br />v.Article VIII coming at Town Meeting:Request for $75,000 to fund <br />website and Lex 250 -related activities (Mr.Cunha,Ms.Jalelian) <br />vi.Questions and Answers <br />h.Special Town Meeting <br />i.November 1,2,3 <br />ii.Ms.Barry to create Powerpoint presentation <br />iii.Shields PR firm will attend Lex 250 meeting on October 19 <br />2.Mr.Conners shared a draft of a Powerpoint presentation on a vision for Patriots Day 2025 <br />along with a proposed timeline of events.Commission members discussed possibilities <br />for events,including a possible encampment in which visitors could interact with <br />reenactors. <br />3.Homework:Prepare for kickoff meeting on 10/12/2022,sign up to follow up with <br />invitees. <br />4.Next Lex 250 meeting:October 19 at 3:30 pm
