The recipient is an excellent student, dedicated volunteer, strong role model and they display outstanding �eadership skills. Th�s year's recipient is Ella J. Lucente. Ella J. Lucente Ella is a Senior at Lexington High School who has ma�ntained an impressive academic record while working part time and also serving on the Lexington Youth Comm�ssion, working with the LABBB Best Buddies Program and Unif ed Basketball Team and as a member of the Lexington High School varsity track team. In her essay, Ella wrote: "I have always strived to be a dedicated, hardworkr'ng and compassionate individual who actively contributes to the Town of Lexington and the Lexington Public Schools" Serving on the Lexington Youth Commission for four years, Ella has used her leadershi�a skills for the benef�t of the community as a Team Leader, Co-Secretary and currentty serves as President. She has advanced the missivn of the Youth Commission of service, leadership and engagement by organizing and part�cipating in food drives for the Lexington Food Pantry,delivery of ineals to low-income residents at Thanksgiving, cleaning glasses to be sent to�hird world countries and cleaning and maintaining the traffic island near the Lexington High School Foo�ball Field. El�a further volunteers her time with the LABBB program at Lexington H�gh School as a Peer Buddy with �he Best Buddies Program and a partner player on the Unified Basketbali Team, where students with and without disabilities participate on the same team. Stepping outside of a traditional volunteer role, Ella used her ar�istic abitity for�he bene�t of the Lexington community by getting invol�ed in a community proj ect by designing and drawing realistic portraits of veterans from �he different branches of military service for the Veterans Day Banner that hung over Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington Center prior to Veterans Day. Ella is a talented student, dedicated volunteer and community par�icipant and strong ro�e model wi�h exceptional leadership qual�ties. For all these reasons and more, it is an honor to present the 2�23 4utstanding Youth of Lexington Award�o Ella J. Lucente.
