<br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br />September 19, 2022 <br />4:00 p.m. <br />held by remote participation <br /> <br />Present: Doug Lucente, Chair; Joe Pato; Norman Cohen; Alan Fields; Ed Grant; Rev. Claire Feingold <br />Thoryn, Melissa Interess, Director of Human Services; and Kim Katzenback, Executive Clerk to the <br />Select Board. <br />Mr. Lucente stated the remote participation meeting is being held remotely as posted with the agenda. <br />1) Money Available as of August 31, 2022: Principal $305,899.49 <br /> Income $14,754.77 <br />2) Human Services Report <br /> <br />Ms. Interess reported the following activity for the Human Services funds dispersed for the period <br />June 1, 2022 – August 31, 2022: <br /> Fund for Lexington <br />o $0 out of the Heating Assistance Pilot (Remaining balance - $4,182.63) <br /> Human Services Emergency Fund (non COVID related) <br />o $4,852.44 (rent for 2 residents; Overdue Car payment for 1 resident ) <br /> Lexpress subsidized passes fiscal year to date - 38 passes, 5 replacement passes value of $8,890 <br /> Gift Cards - $150 in food cards <br /> Human Services Gift Fund Assistance (non COVID related) <br />o $587.09 for Shower door for resident <br /> Covid-19 Financial Assistance (Takeda and FFL Contributions) <br />o Disbursed $7,224.19 this period for 3 individuals/families <br /> Takeda Balance: $68,165.32 <br /> FFL Balance: $25,000 <br /> <br />3) Recreation Department Report <br /> <br />Mr. Battite, Recreation Director, was unable to attend the meeting. In her stead, Ms. Interess reviewed <br />the report Recreation provided regarding the Recreation Scholarship Fund. The Recreation Scholarship <br />Fund is used to assist children from low income families to attend Town sponsored summer programs. <br />Recreation Department thanks the Fund for Lexington for their support. She noted the report shows a <br />balance of $719 in the Recreation Scholarship Fund account. She stated that remaining annual account <br />balances have been typically applied towards the out of school time requests for students received during <br />the coming school year. The memo from the Recreation Department respectfully requests $8,000 from <br />the Fund for Lexington to support recreation scholarship awards now through the Spring 2023. <br /> <br />Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 6-0 to approve <br />$8,000 to the Recreation Department to provide scholarship monies for recreation programming. <br /> <br /> <br />4) Discuss Fund for Lexington Annual Appeal <br />The Board discussed the Fund for Lexington Annual Appeal letter and ensued providing Mr. Lucente <br />feedback regarding the content. It was agreed Mr. Lucente would update the letter accordingly and the <br />letter would mail by November 18, 2022. <br /> <br /> <br />5) Discuss Fund for Lexington Submission for Annual Town Report FY2022 (7/1/2021 – 6/30/22) <br />The Board discussed the draft Fund for Lexington Submission for Annual Town Report FY2022 <br />Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 6-0 to approve <br />the draft Fund for Lexington Submission for Annual Town Report FY2022 with the suggested edits. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
