TOWN WARRANT <br /> Town of Lexington <br /> <br /> Commonwealth of Massachusetts Middlesex, ss. <br /> To any of the Constables of the Town of Lexington Greetings: <br /> In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are to notify the inhabitants of the Town of <br /> Lexington qualified to vote in elections and in Town affairs to meet at the Clarke Middle School, in said <br /> Town on Wednesday, May 15 at 8:00 p.m., at which time and place the following articles are to be acted <br /> upon and determined exclusively by the Town Meeting Members in accordance with Chapter 215 of the <br /> Acts of 1929, as amended, and subject to the referendum provided for by Section eight of said Chapter, <br /> as amended. <br /> ARTICLE 1 REPORTS OF TOWN BOARDS, OFFICERS, COMMITTEES <br /> To receive the reports of any Board or Town Officer or of any Committee of the Town. <br /> ARTICLE 2 AMEND GENERAL BYLAWS <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend section 90-9 of the General Bylaws by deleting the word"free", <br /> or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by Charles Lamb and two-hundred or more registered voters) <br /> ARTICLE 3 AMEND GENERAL BYLAWS <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend §90-9 of the General Bylaws, Regulation of Refuse Disposal, to <br /> authorize fees for residential waste collection and disposal; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> ARTICLE 4 AMEND GENERAL BYLAWS <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend §90-9 of the General Bylaws by deleting the word"free," and by <br /> adding the following at the end"and may require residents to pay a fee for curbside collection of non- <br /> recyclable refuse provided that the fee shall be set annually so that the total annual revenue estimated to <br /> be received from the fee in any given fiscal year shall not exceed the amount by which the Town's <br /> estimated maximum tax levy limit for such fiscal year exceeds the Town's estimated tax levy for such <br /> fiscal year", so that the amended bylaw would read as follows: <br /> The Selectmen shall provide and maintain under their care and supervision, some suitable place <br /> or method for public disposal for the inhabitants of the Town to deposit ashes, cinders, papers <br /> and other refuse and rubbish in accordance with such rules and regulations as the Selectmen may <br /> from time to time make. Such rules and regulations may require the separation of designated <br /> recyclable material or materials from other refuse and may require residents to pay a fee for <br /> curbside collection of non-recyclable refuse provided that the fee shall be set annually so that <br /> total annual revenue estimated to be received from the fee in any given fiscal year shall not <br /> exceed the amount by which the Town's estimated maximum tax levy limit for such fiscal year <br /> exceeds the Town's estimated tax levy for such fiscal year. <br /> Or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br />
