Lexington Historical Commission
Minutes of the Meeting of October 21, 1981
Members present: Sara Chase, Martin Gilman
Anne Grady (ex officio) , Ed Donnolly
The Lexington Historical Commission met in Room 111
of the Town Office Building on October 21 at 7 : 30 p.m. .
Town Manager Robert Hutchinson announced that the two va-
cancies on the Commission had been filled. The Selectmen
appointed Mr, Ed Donnolly and Mr. Roland Gubisch to the
Commission. Hutchinson spoke at some length about budget
matters, Commission activities, and concluded by offering
the typing and mailing services of his office staff. Don-
nolly, a history teacher in Watertown and employed by the
National Park Service, was welcomed to the Commission.
Discussion then turned to defining plans and goals
and budget for fiscal 1982 . Grady and Chase helped Gilman,
who agreed to do the forms as needed. Grady reported that
Fallick has consented to write the Annual Report statement
for this calendar year. The Commission completed the last
200 inventory photographs but still lacks forms on 50
structures, advised on the Adams School conversion, and
responded to a number of telephone requests for information
in 1981.
The aims for 1982 are to complete the survey and in-
ventory, to focus on East Lexington as an historic area, and
to stimulate greater public awareness of the value of Lex-
ington' s older homes and buildings.
The meeting adjourned at 9 : 15 after setting November 18
as the date for the next meeting.
Respectfully submitted,
