THE LEXINGTON HISTORICAL. COMMISSION
Lexington, Massachusetts 02173
Minutes
The Lexington Historical Commission held its regular
monthly meeting for October at 7:30 P.M. on October 18,
1979, in Romm 111 of the "'own Office Building. Members
present were Sara B. Chase, Bebe Failick, and Anne Grady.
Two possible sources of summer interns to help draft
a preservation plan for Lexington were rejected--the Eatinnal
Trust as it no longer has an intern program, and the
Audfton Environmental Intern Program as it is too costly.
A third potential source of student help is a new course
which is being organizaed as part of the preservation
d egree program at Boston University. Anne Grady will
investigate this possitility. Students would also complete Inventory.
The Commission decided to respond to selectman Mary
Miley's request for a list of all National Register
Properties in Lexington by sending not only that list
but also sending a strong statement of our willingness
to review any demolotional proposals which might relate
to older buildings in Lexington. Anne Grady is drafting
the letter, to be reviewed by Sara Chase.
Bebe Fallick reported progress with the inventory;
while some photography is left to be done, the typed
copies of recently completed forms have been finished.
The Moon Hill forms, promised some time ago by Chase,
are yet ndone.
I ime---had—eeme to- -re-s-ubmit
iomtnat--i-Dt- v- - = _ LT- tional--R-ests-ter
Having been requested to determine if Lexington has
any historic bridges, we felt that the person to contact
was Ivry Whipple of the Historical Society.
There being no further business, the meeting adjanrned.
Respectfully submitted,
Sara B.
