Room 111 <br /> Present: Sara Chase (chair) , Anne Grady, Norma Posen, Bebe Fallick <br /> Guests : Jean Pynn, Carol Libin <br /> MINUTES <br /> The minutes of February 8, 1979, were read and accepted. <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FURTHER WORK ON TEE H_NCOCK SCHOOL <br /> John Orcutt 's letter regarding the LHC 's recommendations for further <br /> work on the Hancock School was signed by members of the Commission. <br /> Specific recommendations regarding trim Paint color and concrete areas <br /> were made. The letter will be sent to Robert Hutchinson, Town Manager, <br /> with copies to Kirk Noyes and the Lexington Minuteman. <br /> QUESTIONS RE THE PYNN HOUSE <br /> Inforffation is till forthcoming re the Pynn House, 881 Massachusetts <br /> Avenue, qualifying for National Refister Property. Tax Act Certification <br /> Report and the Tax Reform Act of 1976 were discussed with reference to <br /> Certification Rehabilitation in conjunction with the Pynn House. Sara <br /> Chase responded to specific questions concerning wallpaper and paint. <br /> RECO: IEND_ITIONS FOR IMPROVED HANDLING OF FUTURE 3HOOL SITES CONVERSIONS <br /> The Commission reviewed Anne Grady 's draft letter regarding recommendations <br /> for improved handling of future school sites conversions. Further <br /> research will be done on details to be included in the letter. <br /> COMMENTS ON THE CAMBRIDGE HISTORICAL COMMIS'S IONtS. PROPOSED LEGISLATION <br /> Norma Bogen commented on the Cambridge Historical Commission's proposed <br /> legislation, indicating a similarity to the Boston Landmarks Covnission. <br /> Cambridge is proposing a regulatory body. Questions were raised as <br /> to overregulation, and as concerns Lexington, as to the need for this <br /> type of protection, and as to the Proper body to accotplish it. <br /> Bc7,en will draft 2 resoonse letter to the C-mbridge Historical Commission <br /> indicating that it is a philosophic approach which the LHC does not <br /> consider necessary in Lexington, but which may have merit for Combridse. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 9 :45 a.m. <br /> Esbe <br /> 4,7 6(e_e <br /> Fallick <br />
