• <br /> THE LEXINGTON HISTORICAL COMMISSION <br /> LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02173 <br /> MEETING <br /> December 14, 1978 , 7 : 30 p .m. , Town Office Building, Room 111 . <br /> Present : Sarah Chase, Anne Grady, Norma Bogen, Bebe Fallick, <br /> John Orcutt <br /> 1 . MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the meeting of November 9 , 1978 , were read and <br /> accepted as recorded. <br /> 2 . MAPC INVENTORY FORMS (THE METROPOLITAN AREA PLANNING COUNCIL) <br /> The Commission briefly reviewed MAPC Inventory Forms for Lex- <br /> ington. These forms recorded public buildings only . Anne <br /> Grady will review and draft a response to the MAPC . <br /> 3 . URBAN IMAGE MAILING LIST <br /> The Commission will be placed on a mailing list of rental <br /> films and other presentation material by Urban Image . A <br /> film, now available entitled "A Measure of Change" , was <br /> discussed. <br /> 4. SUBMISSION FOR TOWN REPORT <br /> Sarah Chase read a final draft of the Historical Commission' s <br /> submission for the town report . This draft was approved as <br /> modified. Considerable discussion centered on the term "Gad <br /> Fly" . <br /> 5 . STUDENT INTERN <br /> Sarah Chase read a notice by the Massachusetts Historical <br /> Commission which offered funding for the position of a <br /> Student intern. The members of the Commission were in favor <br /> of having a student intern for eight to twelve hours a week <br /> for one semester. <br /> 6 . HANCOCK SCHOOL OPENING <br /> Members of the Commission discussed public opening of the <br /> Hancock School on Friday, December 15 , 1978 . All were en- <br /> couraged to attend. <br /> 7 . LEXINGTON BANDSTAND <br /> Members of the Commission discussed the possibility of making <br /> a statement on the location and design of the new bandstand. <br /> John Orcutt and Anne Grady will investigate and attempt to <br /> obtain drawings and other documentation describing the project . <br /> Attention was called to an article in the Lexington Minuteman <br /> (this date) pertaining to the bandstand. <br />
