• THE LEXINGTON HISTORICAL COMMISSION LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02173 MEETING December 14, 1978 , 7 : 30 p .m. , Town Office Building, Room 111 . Present : Sarah Chase, Anne Grady, Norma Bogen, Bebe Fallick, John Orcutt 1 . MINUTES The minutes of the meeting of November 9 , 1978 , were read and accepted as recorded. 2 . MAPC INVENTORY FORMS (THE METROPOLITAN AREA PLANNING COUNCIL) The Commission briefly reviewed MAPC Inventory Forms for Lex- ington. These forms recorded public buildings only . Anne Grady will review and draft a response to the MAPC . 3 . URBAN IMAGE MAILING LIST The Commission will be placed on a mailing list of rental films and other presentation material by Urban Image . A film, now available entitled "A Measure of Change" , was discussed. 4. SUBMISSION FOR TOWN REPORT Sarah Chase read a final draft of the Historical Commission' s submission for the town report . This draft was approved as modified. Considerable discussion centered on the term "Gad Fly" . 5 . STUDENT INTERN Sarah Chase read a notice by the Massachusetts Historical Commission which offered funding for the position of a Student intern. The members of the Commission were in favor of having a student intern for eight to twelve hours a week for one semester. 6 . HANCOCK SCHOOL OPENING Members of the Commission discussed public opening of the Hancock School on Friday, December 15 , 1978 . All were en- couraged to attend. 7 . LEXINGTON BANDSTAND Members of the Commission discussed the possibility of making a statement on the location and design of the new bandstand. John Orcutt and Anne Grady will investigate and attempt to obtain drawings and other documentation describing the project . Attention was called to an article in the Lexington Minuteman (this date) pertaining to the bandstand.
