Lexington Historical Commission <br /> Minutes <br /> June 16, 1977 7:30 p.m. <br /> The meeting of the Lexington Historical Commission held on <br /> June 16, 1977, in the Town Office Building was called to <br /> order by Chairperson, Anne Grady. Old members present <br /> were Anne Grady, Elizabeth Reinhardt , and Sara Chase. <br /> au61-4""e-y 113L- -- 1,01;441 (.41 <br /> New member, Norma Bogen; was welcomed to the Commission. <br /> Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> Grady circulated the letter she ani Ms. Chase composed and <br /> sent to Representative Genevra Counihan, stating the priorities <br /> of the Lexington Historical Commission in the context of <br /> regional planning. <br /> After some dixussion of the need for completing the inventory <br /> as soon as possible, the meeting adjourned to <br /> to a program of visitip speakers and a television tape. <br /> thiLs <br /> Phoebe HammAof the Concord Historical Commission spoke <br /> eloquently about the process of saving an historic house in <br /> Concord in spite of the house ' s location in conservation land. <br /> The house now is not only saved, but alsorenovated, and <br /> being rented to a young family. <br /> Juliana Boyd of the Brookline Planning Department gave the <br /> Commission copies of material pertaining to Brookline ' s <br /> design review and sign control ordinances. She shared with <br /> us the benefits and problems Brookline has had in trying to <br /> restore and maintain some historic quality to the "Lain Street" <br /> area of that suburb. <br /> Debbie Winston, a student at Pits-r-,t4otc-College, showed the <br /> video tape she made in Lexington in the Spring, which included <br /> interviews with Anne Grady, Elizabeth Reinhardt, and Town <br /> Manager Robert Hutchinson, and scenes of many of the historic <br /> areas and houses in Lexington. <br /> After the program, the Commission adjourned to Ms. Grady' s <br /> house for informal discussion with the vidting speakers and <br /> other guests. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Sata B.
