Money is available from <br /> the following sources for Historic Preservation. <br /> Dept. of the Interior - National oark Service <br /> State Historic oreaorvmtion - Elizabeth Amadon Exec. Director (Ma. Hist. Comm.) <br /> Mr. Snell is the Agent Administrator of the Grants Program. Mr. Tabor is the Staff <br /> Architect. <br /> Up to 50% of the Actual cost of the project can be funded. Request must be doc- <br /> umented (the more you ask for the more you get) <br /> 1. Make out application - sent this ONLY - (don't send more than is asked for) <br /> Make sure you have the right Congressional District. <br /> The application comes with a sample and guide. Applications are due <br /> in Lexington by April 9th and should be submitted to the local Historical <br /> Commission. <br /> The Massachusetts Historical Commission completes the Federal application (Vol. 3) <br /> and will send to Washington after submitting to all local agencies as required. <br /> The application goes next to Congress, which acts and determines the amount of <br /> althocation. <br /> The State will notify the applicant in December if and/or how much money will be <br /> allocated for your project. Then definite plsnd and specifications must be sub- <br /> mitted. Grants are given only for work to be done and not for work already done. <br /> See Grants Manual for Specific Instructions. <br /> Once an allocation is made the plans and opouo" are sent to Washington by the State <br /> Historical Commission. When the project is complete a report must be sent to the <br /> State Historical Commission. <br />
