HISTORICAL COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Room G5 August 18 , 1975 <br /> Lexington Town Office Building 7 : 30 P .M . <br /> Voting members present : Donna Brown, Anne Grady, Richard <br /> Morehouse , Elizabeth Reinhardt, <br /> Thomas Taylor . <br /> Public participants : Mrs . R.J. Dexter 58 Hancock St . <br /> The meeting was brought to order at 7 : 35 P .M . Our guest was <br /> introduced to the members . Mrs . Reinhardt provided the agenda <br /> (attached) <br /> Mrs . Reinhardt reported that the inventory is progressing <br /> well . The East Lexington, Munroe District and the area <br /> around the Battle Green has been completed except for the <br /> pictures to be taken . Approximately one half of the Battle <br /> Green District remains to be done . In addition, the Hancock INVENTORY <br /> Street area has yet to be done . This work is still in pro- <br /> gress with the help of our volunteers . <br /> The question of the reproduction of forms for the Massachusetts <br /> Historical Commission and our files was discussed . Mrs . <br /> Brown will check with the Town Office to see what facilities FORMS <br /> are available to us . <br /> Mr. Morehouse provided us with costs for printing of stat- <br /> ionary and business cards . It was decided to eliminate <br /> having business cards printed and use our letterhead instead . <br /> The printing cost bids were from Concord Press , $35 . 00 for STATIONARY <br /> 1000 letterheads and $22 . 45 for envelopes . Barrett Press- <br /> $52 . 89 for letterheads and $13 . 65 for envelopes . Mrs . Brown <br /> will ask the Town Office about the possibility of ordering <br /> through the town before we make other arraingements . <br /> Memberships in the National Trust for Historic Preservation, <br /> Bay State Historical League and American Association of State <br /> and Local History were discussed . Since our budget is limitedMEMBERSHIPE <br /> it was decided to borrow from the library and members of the <br /> commission that now hold memberships , until some later date . <br /> Concern has been expressed to the commission by Mrs . George <br /> Morey about the condition of the Bowman Tavern . The possibility <br /> of finding matching funds and an application to the National TAVERN <br /> Register were discussed . Mrs . Reinhardt will talk with Mr . <br /> Stephen Snell at the Mass . Historical Commission for ideas as <br /> to what might be the best approach . <br /> A letter was recieved from the Norfolk Historical Commission <br /> asking for information concerning the Turner Family . It was <br /> voted to refer the letter to the Lexington Minutemen and the NORFOLK <br /> Lexington Historical Society where records are kept which may <br /> be of assistance . <br />
