Minutes of the Lexington Zoning Board of Appeals <br />Virtual, Via Zoom <br />July 14, 2022 <br /> <br />Board Members: Chair – Ralph D. Clifford, Jeanne K. Krieger, Norman P. Cohen, Nyles <br />Barnert and Martha C. Wood <br /> <br />Alternate Member: James Osten <br /> <br />Administrative Staff: Building Commissioner, Jim Kelly and Sharon Coffey, Administrative <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Address: 4 Maguire Road <br /> <br />The petitioner is requesting TWO SPECIAL PERMITS in accordance with the Zoning By-Law <br />(Chapter 135 of the Code of Lexington) section(s) 135-9.4, 135-5.2.4, 135-5.2.10 and 135- <br />5.2.8.1 to allow a wall sign to be larger than otherwise allowed and internally illuminated. <br /> <br />The petitioner submitted the following information with the application: Nature and Justification, <br />Plot Plan and floor plans. Also submitted with application was a letter from the Design Advisory <br />Committee. <br /> <br />Prior to the meeting, the petitions and supporting data were reviewed by the Building <br />Commissioner, Conservation Administrator, Town Engineer, Board of Selectmen, the Planning <br />Director, the Historic District Commission Clerk, Historical Commission, Economic <br />Development, and the Zoning Administrator. Comments were received f rom the Zoning <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />Presenter: John Peterson on behalf of KSQ Therapeutics <br />The Hearing was opened at 7:08 pm. <br />Mr. Peterson presented the petition. He showed the sign plan. The sign is about 25 square feet <br />and is halo lit. They have the ability to dim the lighting. It will only be on for a couple of hours at <br />night. They discussed with the Design Advisory Committee and they changed the design to their <br />recommendations. <br /> <br />The Board questioned hours of illumination (During business hours. They will be turned on <br />around 6 or 7 am and off before 8 pm). <br /> <br />Board Member, Jeanne K. Krieger, questioned if a lighting condition would be acceptable (Yes). <br /> <br />There were no further questions from the Board. <br /> <br />There were no questions or comments from the audience. <br /> <br />The Hearing was closed at 7:12 (a role call was taken: Ralph D. Clifford– Yes, Jeanne K. <br />Krieger – Yes, Martha C. Wood – Yes, Norman P. Cohen – Yes and Nyles N. Barnert – Yes). <br /> <br />The Board agreed on a condition of lighting between the hours of 6 am and 8 pm. <br />
