Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250) <br />October 12, 2022, 10:00 am <br />Community Engagement Meeting Minutes <br />Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk, the Semiquincentennial Commission <br />(Lex250) convened in a community engagement meeting on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at <br />10:00 am at Cary Library. <br />Present:Suzie Barry (Select Board Member), Mona Roy (Community Representative), Jillian <br />Tung (Music & Arts Representative), Barry Cunha (Business Representative), Paul <br />O’Shaughnessy (Historical Organization Representative), Steve Conners (Reenactment <br />Community), Bebe Fallick (Tourism Committee Representative) <br />Guests: Many individuals and members of community organizations in Lexington and <br />neighboring towns <br />The meeting was called to order at 10:05 a.m. by Ms. Barry. <br />I.Ms. Barry welcomed community members, gave an introduction to the Commission, and <br />provided an overview of its charge, timeline of events, and funding <br />II.Members of the Commission presented an overview of the Commission’s working groups <br />A.Ms. Tung and Ms. Fallick discussed possible arts & culture events and activities <br />B.Mr. Conners discussed financial considerations <br />C.Mr. Cunha discussed government relations and logistics <br />D.Mr. Conners discussed publicity-related matters <br />III.Ms. Tung encouraged and invited community members to volunteer to help with <br />planning, fundraising, publicity, community engagement activities, or share ideas about <br />possible events <br />IV.Ms. Roy discussed possible community events and underscored the importance of <br />inclusivity in all Lex 250 activities <br />V.Ms. Barry discussed a request for funding that will be presented at the upcoming Special <br />Town Meeting <br />VI.Mr. Conners shared contact information for the Commission <br />VII.Community members shared comments and asked questions in a Question and Answer <br />session with the Commission. <br />VIII.The conversation ended at approximately 10:45 am <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Jillian Tung
