LEXINGTON CENTER COMMITTEE <br /> Membership <br /> 11- members representing town government, the business community and <br /> adjacent neighborhoods <br /> To be appointed by the Board of Selectmen for staggered 3 year terms <br /> Purpose <br /> To advise the Selectmen and business community on managing change in <br /> the Center in order to ensure its long term viability, while preserving <br /> its historical significance and the integrity of adjacent neighborhoods. <br /> Responsibilities <br /> * Make recommendations to the Selectmen and business community on <br /> managing change in the Center including suggested policies, programs <br /> and priorities <br /> * Review and cuLauent on proposed changes in the Center recommended by <br /> town government and the business community <br /> * Monitor changes in the Center and report on their impact <br /> * Serve as a coordinating mechanism for program implementation <br /> * Overscc program implementation when requested by the Selectmen <br /> * Conduct studies and surveys as directed by the Selectmen <br /> * Develop and promote measures to improve traffic flow, increase <br /> parking, achieve economic vitality, add anmentities and enhance <br /> appearance <br /> * Issue a brief annual report on the state of the Center <br /> Its first task will be in the two areas recommended by the CRC page 59 <br /> report <br /> Design and Amenities (appoint a design advisory group) <br /> Access/Parking <br /> Adopted October 21, 1986 <br /> Revised October 31, 1988 <br />
