Review of Judi Barrett’s report on Affordable Housing Buy-Down Assistance
The question that Ms. Barrett was asked to investigate is: if the community wanted to create some
affordable housing opportunities working with existing housing stock, in particular, single family
homes through a purchase buy-down program, what would that program look like? The results of
her research to answer this question are contained in the report entitled Lexington Housing
Partnership Affordable Housing Buy-Down Assistance for Moderate- And Middle-Income
Homebuyers: Models, Issues and Recommendations.
There was significant discussion about the report, its recommendations and next steps. The
Partnership did not reach consensus on whether to accept the report or to recommend it Town
Meeting in its current form. Ms. Barrett was asked to make some modifications to the report and re-
send it to the Partnership for further review.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:11 p.m.
