Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250) <br />June 16, 2022 Meeting Minutes <br />Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk, the Semiquincentennial Commission <br />(Lex250) convened in a meeting via Zoom video conference on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at <br />3:33 pm as allowed by legislation (S.2475) extending the suspension of certain provisions of the <br />Massachusetts Open Meeting Law. <br />Present:Steve Conners (Reenactment Community), Cerise Jalelian (Town Celebrations <br />Committee Representative), Julie O’Leary (Civic Representative), Mona Roy (Community <br />Representative), Jillian Tung (Music & Arts Representative), Steve Cole (Community <br />Representative), Paul O’Shaughnessy (Historical Organization Representative), <br />Bebe Fallick (Tourism Committee Representative), Barry Cunha (Local Business <br />Representative), Suzie Barry (Select Board Member) <br />1.The meeting was called to order at 3:33 pm by Ms. Barry. <br />2.Financial matters were reviewed and discussed. <br />a.Ms. Barry reviewed expenses and balances to date. <br />b.Shields PR firm <br />i.Ms. Barry introduced Shields as a possible consulting group to develop a <br />Lex 250 website and other publicity materials. <br />ii.Shields has extensive experience working with municipalities and state <br />entities as well as a portfolio of successful products <br />iii.A motion was made by Ms. Barry to engage Shields for $14850 to develop <br />a publicity playbook and initiate design of a Lex 250 website. The motion <br />was seconded by Steve Cole and approved by roll call vote. <br />c.Penny machine <br />i.Ms. Barry introduced possibilities for a penny machine to be installed at <br />the Visitors Center. <br />ii.Committee members shared insights and input. <br />iii.Ms. Barry will discuss further with Visitors Center Staff. <br />d.The committee discussed other possible Lex 250 - related expenses and possible <br />approaches to fundraising. <br />e.Rev 250 <br />i.A motion was made by Mr. Cole to engage at a signature tier level in Rev <br />250 for $1500. The motion was seconded by Mr. Cunha and approved by <br />roll call vote. <br />f.Battle Road Scenic Byway <br />i.The committee shared feedback regarding the Battle Road Scenic Byway <br />ideas presented by Mr. Canale at the June 8 meeting. <br />ii.Safety concerns about structural changes to the roads were discussed. <br />g.Next meeting: Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 3:30 pm <br />h.Meeting was adjourned at 4:40 pm by roll call vote. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Jillian Tung
