MINUTES <br /> FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD <br /> March 22, 2022 <br /> 4:00 p.m. <br /> held by remote participation <br /> Present: Doug Lucerne, Chair; Suzie Barry;Norman Cohen; Alan Fields; Ed Grant; Rev. Claire Feingold <br /> Thoryn, Alan Wrigley; Melissa Interess, Director of Human Services; Tony Serio, Assistant Director of <br /> Family and Youth Services; Melissa Battite, Director of Recreation and Community Programs; and Kim <br /> Katzenback, Executive Clerk to the Select Board. <br /> Mr. Lucerne stated the remote participation meeting is being held remotely as posted with the agenda. <br /> 1) Money Available as of August 31, 2021: Principal $324,477.26 <br /> Income $38,062.91 <br /> 2) Human Services Report <br /> Ms. Interess reported the following activity for the Human Services funds dispersed for the period: <br /> • Fund for Lexington <br /> o $1,260.72 out of the Heating Assistance Pilot for four residents (Remaining balance - <br /> $4,635.21) <br /> • Human Services Emergency Fund(non COVID related) <br /> o $5,671.59(2,199 for rent, $338 for hotel, $2,334.59 for miscellaneous overdue bills, $800 <br /> for grocery gift cards) <br /> o Lexpress subsidized passes fiscal year to date - 38 passes, value of$7,640 <br /> o Gift Cards - $1650 in food cards, $150 in clothing cards <br /> • Covid-19 Financial Assistance (Takeda and FFL Contributions) <br /> o Disbursed$12,953.64 from Human Services Emergency Fund for individuals/families <br /> ■ Takeda Balance: $81,622.22 <br /> ■ FFL Balance: $25,000 <br /> The Fund for Lexington Board also discussed the $25,000 Fund for Lexington provided in April 2020 to <br /> the Human Services Emergency for COVID-19 assistance. <br /> Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 7-0 to approve <br /> $10,000 be given to the Human Services Emergency Fund; and further to confirm the $25,000 deposited <br /> into Human Services Emergency Fund in April 2020 should continue to be allocated for COVID-19 <br /> assistance through the Human Services Emergency Fund. <br /> 3) Recreation Department Report and Request for Funds to be used for Recreation Scholarship and <br /> Tent Rental <br /> Ms. Battite, Recreation Director, updated the Board on the Recreation Scholarship Fund used to assist <br /> children from low income families to attend Town sponsored summer programs. <br /> Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 7-0 to approve <br /> $13,126.75 to the recreation department to provide scholarship monies for recreation programming. <br /> 4) Other <br /> • Ratify December 2, 2021 Human Services Request <br /> Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 6-0, 1 <br /> abstention(Rev. Feingold Thoryn) to ratify the approval of the December 2, 2021 Human Services request <br /> for $3000 for the Holiday Gift Program for families in need. <br />
